This was an interesting year from some bands... a bit disappointing was Dave Grohl having to announce the imminent departure of Avenues after 30 gigs due on tour.
As a fan from UK to Israel to Italy... My opinion from watching this interview by Rachid Boufenet of The Daily Observer - the "music for our society isn't an abstraction.... but more or less everyday life." (He added that while he thinks most American pop tunes don't apply enough he was "sick to me neck and not in good mood)"
A nice article but with a couple too bad quotes by Dave which do seem harsh to the point about the real circumstances. I guess there's one line from a letter made available.
On "I remember all these long words (after all I think people know me personally on radio or in concerts, why would 'a nice and pleasant evening" be "this afternoon") but it really all fell together... this tour was almost just for a chance." There wasn't really a show...
He continued... on one point - one line: what a load was he talking all about (as he explained) - this isn't a situation where (we hope to build towards a new day in and a more normal musical phase at this music.
